It has been a while since I made a post. I want to share with you a topic with a lot of meaning, “Life,” and we need to “Keep it in perspective.” Without Life, we would be dead, I guess, I am not sure what else there would be. When I think about keeping it in perspective, I think that so many things can consume our daily lives, but being alive is the joy, the appreciation for the smallest or trivial event, and ultimately, just being able to breathe. I am saying this because today, I am going through an “Infusion therapy,” and I see all these people in the infusion center, young, old, male and female. Some of them have their friend, spouse, or parent with them, but now we are all getting treatment to make our lives bearable or functioning. Now, my condition isn’t life-threatening, but without this treatment, my life would be very challenging, which I have experienced twice already.

As I sit here in this quiet room, I can’t help but let my mind wander and reflect on what truly matters in life. The ability to appreciate each day, no matter how mundane or stressful it may seem, is a gift that we often take for granted. When we take the time to acknowledge the beauty in the world around us, we begin to see that even the smallest things can bring joy and happiness.

Sharing our lives with others is another incredible gift that we can give. Whether it’s through laughter, tears, or simply being present, the connections we make with those around us have the power to transform our lives. Being a parent, friend, or co-worker to those we care about is a privilege that should never be taken lightly.

Knowing that we have people in our lives who are there to support us, to share moments with us, and to simply be there when we need them is a profound experience that can’t be replicated. Even as I sit here in this room, I am grateful for the simple act of breathing and enjoying the gift of life. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always something to be grateful for.

It’s crucial for me to maintain a sense of perspective and gratitude towards life. I recognize that my material possessions and ambitions do not define me. Rather, life itself is a precious gift that empowers me to pursue my desires and unleash my full potential. The only thing that stands between me and my goals are the limitations I set for myself. Life grants me the ability to achieve greatness, and without it, I am powerless to make any progress.

  1. Thank you for sharing your post. I am grateful for your friendship and the experiences and stories we have shared. You have enriched my life by being you. I see the challenges you have had and how you have persisted through. Your positive attitude and reflection have given you a silent strength that I see in your writing and the way you carry yourself. . You always came in with a smile on your face and never complained about the challenges. I definitely believe having a good attitude and drive to continue has helped you get to where you are today. You crave life and thrive in it.

As a former ER/ICU nurse in the hospital, I have seen death many times, too many times to count that I had to leave the hospital setting. I have been able to have the blessing of looking at life with different lenses. Life is precious and can change in an instant. As young inexperienced people we don’t always see how vulnerable we are to death and have a sense of invincibility. It was not until becoming a nurse and having personal tragedies of my own that I became grateful for breath and the gift of life.

The meaning of life is different for everyone. Some countries have a high rate of suicide because they can not provide for their families. Here in America, we take many things for granted. Being grateful for life has helped me not “sweat the small stuff.”

I never knew how fulfilling nursing would be until I started working. It gives me a sense of purpose. Like you mentioned, we all need each other. Most likely we all need help at some point in our lives and I have been able to “give back” to the universe in return for the help I needed at a very difficult time in my life.

We all get caught up in the business of life, but I always try to be present in the moment and see the beauty of life in each day, connect with the people who I cross paths with, and give help when I can. Those things bring me joy and fulfillment.
